A bit about us…
We began our journey together in 2017 when we both embarked on a development opportunity to expand our expertise in Evidence-Based Practice within Children and Young People’s mental health. Both with a background as Mental Health Nurses, we quickly formed a bond underpinned by our commitment to provide exceptional care to this remarkable client group.
Our connection grew as we continued to pursue professional development by enrolling and completing our training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Even though time passed and life took us in different directions, our paths realigned together again and we continued to build not just a friendship, but a professional relationship as colleagues.
Sharing mutual passions, principles and aspirations, we came together again to establish C&H Psychotherapies Ltd. Fuelled by our determination and drive to make significant change in the area of children and young people’s mental health, we are dedicated to making lasting change and providing exceptional care through our practice.
Hey there, I’m Chris (he/him)
As a registered Mental Health Nurse and BABCP accredited Psychotherapist, I offer specialist video based psychotherapy to children and young people.
With almost 10 years experience of working with children and young people in supporting their mental health, I offer effective and compassionate video based therapy. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), augmented by elements of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Attachment Theory. By integrating these approaches, I am able to offer comprehensive and effective psychotherapy, tailored to the unique needs of each child and young person.
From the beginning of my career in mental health, I have held a passion and drive for working with children and young people, leading me to specialise in this area. I strongly believe and value the importance of early intervention and helping young people to gain an understanding of themselves, and to learn the right tools help navigate the complexities and challenges life can throw at us all. I enjoy being able to offer a more playful and flexible approach to help meet young people where they are at, and to work alongside them to help reach their goals through therapy.
Outside of the therapy room, you will more often find me with my rescue dog 'Bonggu'. Whether we’re out enjoying a hike, or he’s by my feet waiting to catch something whilst I’m cooking, he’s never far away. He’s usually dozing by my side so I’m sure he will make an appearance in one of our sessions if you would like to meet him.
When I’m not with Bonggu, you might find me looking at which places I can travel to next. I love to travel, having experienced working and living abroad in Canada for a few years, as well as visiting a few other countries around the world.

Pleased to meet you, I’m Heather (she/her)
Born and bred in the North East of England, I combine a holistic approach as a registered Mental Health Nurse and BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist, offering specialist video based psychotherapy for children and young people.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 8 years, first as a nurse and then as a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, where my career has taken me down the path of specialising in children and young people’s mental health. I am passionate about early intervention and prevention; if we can offer the right support, at the right time, we can make a difference to a young person's quality of life.
Therapy doesn’t need to be stuffy and formal; we will have some tough conversations, but these will be carried out in a relaxed and friendly environment so that we can break down those barriers together. I’ll be your biggest advocate and will show you unconditional compassion during your toughest times. You are not on your own.
I love my job and how I get to support so many of you to live the life that you deserve.
A mother of a young person I was supporting once said,
‘my daughter now fits in the world how she wants to fit in the world’
I was taken aback by how genuine this comment was. Be the person you dare to dream you can be!
I am humbled by my husband and two children. Becoming a mother and all that brings is my drive in life. Creating a world for my daughters where mental health support & wellbeing is a priority is so important for me.
Like Chris I also have an interest in travel. When I was just 17 I travelled 15 states in America in one summer! When I’m not delivering therapy I like to spend my time with my family and friends, climbing mountains especially, but more often I can be found in a spinning class or driving my children to their various hobbies and interests and hosting board game nights.
